A performance of new dance & music inspired by Emily Dickinson

As a part of Kore Press' Big Read Tucson, New ARTiculations Dance Theatre, with visiting dance artist Katherine Ferrier of The Architects along with local sound genius Vicki Brown, will present an evening-length dance & music performance inspired by the life and poetry of Emily Dickinson. The performance will feature original musical compositions by Vicki Brown (on violin and pedals) with new choreography by New ARTiculations and Katherine Ferrier. Costumes designed and made by Barbara Seyda, lighting design by Don Fox.

The performance takes place at the Pima Community College Center for the Arts Proscenium Theater on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. Regular tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. VIP tickets, which include special seating and private reception, are also available for $40.

Katherine Ferrier is an independent dance artist/educator, poet, visual artist and curator who has been improvising and making dances since the late 80s. A co-founder of The Architects, an improvisational quartet with a collaborative performance history spanning nearly 20 years, she teaches and performs regularly throughout the US and abroad. Vicki Brown is a violinist based in Tucson, AZ.  Her classical/avant/improvisational approach has led to numerous collaborations in the US and Europe with musicians and bands, dancers, painters, writers, actors and film makers.  She performs regularly with improvisational dance collectives Movement Salon (Tucson) and The Architect (US).  Music from her two albums, Winter Garden (2006) and Seas & Trees (2009), appears in the Emmy award-winning/Oscar-nominated documentary, Gasland (2010).  For sound bites, visit
