Raquel Escobar (she, her) has lived in Tucson, Arizona for her entire life, and is a firm believer in the unparalleled beauty of a Tucsonan sunset. She is currently attending the University of Arizona Honors College as a National Hispanic Scholar and UA National Scholars Award Recipient. After her expected graduation in 2020 with a major in Gender and Women’s Studies, she plans to attend graduate school. Raquel dreams of fusing her passions for creative writing and education with an ever-growing commitment to disability and LGBTQ+ activism. Ultimately, she hopes to help cultivate a world in which disabled and LGBTQ+ individuals can find inspiration, security, and community everywhere they look.
