Contribute your voice to this collective video tribute to Mothers & nourishing forces in all forms. Submit your creative Shout Out in video, audio, still, or text form. The collective video will air on May 10.
1. Compose your tribute: Is it for a bio mom, grandmother, ancestor, or a chosen mother or mother-figure, your artistic or activist mother-muse or mentor, your geologic mother, or spiritual hero? Or, perhaps your Praise Song is a dance for that which (or whom) is desiring to be mothered or nurtured in you. Or, maybe yours is a Shout Out acknowledging someone (or something) for whom you have embodied the form or role of nurturer or creatrix. Maybe this honoring is about an experience of maternal failings that have become gifts, for which you call in strength—the metaphors and yearnings that usher you through the dark into some light. Or, the absence of Mother.
What pomegranate seeds do you wish to swallow to help you enter this Collective Chorus? The field is an open fertile space for your reflective, interpretative work.
2. Donate $15 for each tribute, which will be composed into Kore’s Collective Mother’s Day Video. A global, improvised composition.
3. Upload your files: videos and audio must be 15-seconds max. Shout outs, dance homage, micro performance (MP4); text-based messages, audio files (MP3), or still images (JPEGs) are all acceptable.
4. Deadline: May 5th.
5. Publication dates: Preview at Kore’s Notes from the Motherfield on May 8, and public release will be on May 10, Mother’s Day (KPI website, social media, and email share with you).
