Sarah Au was born in Tucson, Arizona where they were raised among saguaros, where summers smelled of creosote. They received an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Public Health from the University of Arizona. This access to an academic analysis of the systematic power structures that perpetuate poverty helped contextualize their experience of living through generational poverty, and ultimately fueled a fierce fire to facilitate equitable change. Sarah delved deep into community organizing with a purpose of empowering marginalized communities through arts and storytelling. They are a passionate writer, cook, body-worker and earth-appreciator and dream of using their gifts to develop sustainable intersectional healing justice communities and increasing access to integrative healing modalities for collective liberation.
