Post-Doc Operations Intern

Casely Coan (she/her/hers) grew up in New Jersey but fell in love with the desert when she moved to Tucson in 2013. She completed her PhD in Rhetoric, Composition, and the Teaching of English with a minor in Gender & Women’s Studies at the University of Arizona in May 2019. Casely’s dissertation, Kai(e)rotic Moments: Resistance and Alternate Futures in Burlesque Performance, emerged out of her experience within the Tucson Libertine League community of performers, with whom she produces and performs monthly at 191 Toole as Lacy O’Ceans. She is passionate about troubling the lines between artistic, activist, and academic communities, playing with words, and rolling around in glitter.
