Dear So-and-So: A Workshop with Addie Tsai

Dear So-and-So: Exploring Our Stories Through Letter Writing

Writing workshop for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers with visiting artist Addie Tsai.
9am-noon, Saturday, Sept 15
Kore Press at The Dunbar Pavilion
325 W 2nd St, Tucson, 85705

Explore the art of letter writing as a tool for self-discovery and reflection. In this experiential workshop, participants will practice writing letters to an “other” that involves either a fictional or real experience, whether that be to themselves, a loved one, a person with whom they’ve had unresolved conflict, or a public figure or fictional character who has had a profound impact on them. As a way to write about trauma, participants can fictionalize a nonfiction experience through this letter-writing format. Examples will be presented and discussed to provide context and inspiration. Participants will not be required to share their letters with others, but rather their experiences of writing them.

Workshop fee: $45. Register here.
Some partial scholarships available, contact dbotello@korepress.org
